Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Lather.AI mobile application or the latherai.net website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Lather.AI ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Use of the service

Lather.AI grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent scan limits or other usage restrictions
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Transmit any malware, spam, or harmful content through the Service
• Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to our backend infrastructure

2. Informational purpose only

The ingredient analysis, grades, and product recommendations provided by Lather.AI are for informational purposes only. They are generated by AI and are not a substitute for professional medical or dermatological advice.

We make no warranties that the analysis is complete, accurate, or appropriate for your specific skin condition, medical history, or health circumstances. Always consult a licensed dermatologist or healthcare professional before making skincare decisions, especially if you have sensitive skin, allergies, or a skin condition.

3. Scan limits

The free tier of Lather.AI allows 10 ingredient scans per device per calendar month. Limits reset on the 1st of each month. We reserve the right to modify scan limits at any time with reasonable notice.

4. Affiliate disclosure

Lather.AI participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. When you tap "Find on Amazon," you may be directed to Amazon via an affiliate link. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence our ingredient grades or product recommendations. All analysis is performed independently by AI based on ingredient composition.

5. Intellectual property

The Lather.AI name, logo, app design, and all content produced by the Service are owned by Lather.AI and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

6. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Anthropic (AI processing), Amazon (affiliate links), and Formspree (email collection). Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the actions or content of third-party services.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lather.AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed $10 USD.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lather.AI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with the updated Terms, stop using the Service.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the applicable courts.
